Job summary

HSBC Holdings plc in Kraków is seeking a Process Manager - Core Product Control to lead end-to-end Product Control for Global Markets P&L and balance sheet, while performing hands-on tasks and coordinating with Front Office for approvals.

The role requires experience in Financial Markets, strong valuation knowledge, and advanced Excel skills. A CFA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent certification is desirable, with flexible, collaborative, and process-improvement minded mindset.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Financial Markets or Treasury.
• Experience in a Product Control role.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and valuation techniques.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Advanced MS Excel skills; familiarity with MS Access and VBA.
• Professional certification (CIMA, CFA, ACCA) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Product Control process for Global Markets P&L and balance sheet.
• Act as SME while also contributing as individual contributor.
• Review and approve uploads of results for Front Office approval.
• Supervise preparation of commentary and analysis supporting daily and monthly results.
• Identify production exceptions and coordinate resolution with other Product Control teams.
• Coordinate responses to onshore and offshore queries and incorporate onshore adjustments with explanations.
• Supervise and coordinate reengineering and streamlining to improve efficiency and control.
• Embed continuous improvement to increase service quality and support economies of scale.

Global Markets Product Control sits within Global Banking and Markets Finance and is responsible for the production and independent validation of Global Markets’ profit and loss and balance sheet. As a Process Manager - Core Product Control you’ll manage the end-to-end control process while also contributing hands-on to daily and monthly P&L and balance sheet reconciliations, substantiation and reporting. The role partners closely with senior stakeholders across Product Control, IT, Operations, Change and Business to ensure accounting policies are applied consistently and trading portfolios are appropriately valued.

What you’ll do

• Act as a subject matter expert while also completing production tasks as an individual contributor.
• Review and approve uploads of results for further Front Office approval.

What you need to have to succeed in this role

• Bring proven experience working within Financial Markets or a Treasury environment.
• Demonstrate experience in a Product Control role.
• Apply a strong understanding of Financial Markets including products traded and their life cycle.
• Use sound knowledge of accounting principles and valuation techniques to support trading portfolio valuation.
• Communicate effectively in written and spoken English, including producing clear commentary and explanations.
• Use advanced MS Excel in day-to-day control and reporting activities.
• Apply MS Access and VBA skills where required, or bring equivalent demonstrable experience with similar tools.
• Hold CIMA, CFA, ACCA or equivalent certification, or bring equivalent demonstrable experience in financial or accounting disciplines.

The pay range for this role is 10 733 PLN – 15 250 PLN (monthly, gross).

Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
