Responsibilities

• Produce daily and monthly P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliations and reporting
• Review P&L components: new trade, market environment, carry, cancel/amend
• Prepare VaR and non-VaR P&L attribution for back-testing
• Upload results for management review with clear commentary
• Identify and resolve production issues with Product Control teams
• Perform basic Balance Sheet analysis to support accurate books
• Communicate with stakeholders across Product Control and related functions
• Support automation of manual processes to improve productivity

Your career opportunity
Global Markets Product Control sits within Global Banking and Markets Finance and is responsible for the production and independent validation of Global Markets profit and loss and balance sheet. As a Product Control Associate in the Global Finance Operations Centre in Krakow you'll support daily and monthly P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliations, substantiation and reporting for specific trading desks. The role helps ensure accounting policies are applied correctly and consistently and that trading portfolios are appropriately valued while partnering with stakeholders across Product Control, IT, Operations, Change and the business.

What you'll do

• Produce daily and monthly P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliations, substantiation and reporting for assigned trading desks
• Review key P&L components including new trade P&L, market environment P&L, carry P&L and cancel and amend P&L
• Prepare accurate Value-at-Risk and non-VaR P&L attribution to support back-testing for assigned desks
• Upload results for management review and produce clear commentary and analysis on key movements
• Identify and resolve production exceptions where possible and coordinate with other Product Control teams to close out issues
• Perform basic Balance Sheet analysis and control tasks to support complete and accurate books and records
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders at different levels of seniority across Product Control and related functions
• Facilitate automation of manual processes to improve productivity and control outcomes

What you need to have to succeed in this role

• Demonstrate good understanding of Financial Markets including products traded, lifecycle, accounting principles and valuation techniques
• Apply strong analytical skills to investigate issues and follow through on resolution
• Communicate clearly in written English and in day-to-day verbal discussions with stakeholders
• Bring Product Control or Valuation Control experience that supports independent P&L and Balance Sheet validation
• Use MS Excel confidently for analysis and reporting
• Maintain up to date awareness of finance and risk policies and how market developments impact valuation
• Work effectively with colleagues across Valuation Control, onshore teams and other support functions
• Follow internal controls and compliance requirements, keeping appropriate records and implementing audit points when required

What we offer

The pay range for this role is 5,983 PLN - 8,000 PLN monthly gross.

Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
