Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Lead Java Software Engineer to design and build next-generation business applications within the Wealth Management Investing delivery team. This role offers hybrid work with potential remote days in Poland and opportunities to work abroad for up to 60 days.

You will lead architecture discussions, mentor teams and drive end-to-end delivery across Java backend and frontend layers using Spring, Angular and React.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering with Java and excellent understanding of modern web application development.
• Strong knowledge across the entire technology stack of Java backend and web-based frontend development.
• Proficiency in Java and frameworks such as Spring, JPA, and Hibernate.
• Experience with front-end technologies like Typescript/JavaScript, Angular, and React.
• Experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL; PL/SQL exposure.
• Knowledge of event-driven architecture (Kafka) and cloud tech (Azure).
• Familiarity with versioning/build tools: Git, GitLab, Jenkins.
• Familiarity with Ansible, Linux, and shell scripts.
• Ability to convey technical ideas to diverse audiences; confident in challenging effectively.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.

Responsibilities

• Provide technology solutions to solve business problems and strengthen digital leadership in financial services.
• Design, plan and deliver sustainable solutions using modern programming languages.
• Analyze requirements to remove ambiguity and refine deliverables.
• Collaborate with team members, software architects and third-party providers to drive delivery.
• Assess new software projects with technical recommendations.
• Conduct code reviews and test software as needed.
• Participate in application architecture, design and other SDLC phases.
• Ensure proper operational controls for transitions from test to production.
