Job summary

EPAM Systems' Financial Services Practice seeks a Senior Java Developer to join a world-class engineering team, delivering backend services and scalable APIs for a leading global investment bank.

The role focuses on high-performance, data-intensive systems in a fast-paced financial environment, with collaboration across distributed teams and Agile Scrum.

The position requires Warsaw office presence three days a week and offers hybrid work with potential for international rotations.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong Java development experience focused on Java 8 & 9.
• Experience with NoSQL databases, ideally MongoDB.
• Experience building REST APIs, ideally with JAX-RS.
• Experience with Reactive Programming, ideally RxJava.
• Solid unit testing experience.
• Good English communication for collaboration in an international team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust Java-based backend services and applications.
• Build and enhance scalable RESTful APIs serving critical business functions.
• Implement reactive, event-driven solutions for high-throughput data processing.
• Work with NoSQL databases to manage and query large-scale datasets.
• Develop comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
• Collaborate with globally distributed, cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to scalable system design.
• Operate within an Agile Scrum framework and deliver iteratively with feedback.
