Job summary

HeadHR is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join our high-performing team in Kraków. You will design, implement, and optimize backend services and APIs powering large-scale travel and transportation systems.

You will lead a team, mentor developers, and shape system architecture with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability in a cloud-native, enterprise environment. Hybrid work: 2 days in the office, 3 days remote.

Qualifications

7–9 years of backend Java experience.
Strong Java, Spring, Hibernate, REST.
Experience with XML and relational databases (Oracle, SQL).
Linux development environment familiarity.
Experience with build tools (Ant, Maven, Gradle).
Hands-on with Apache Camel or ServiceMix.
Strong communication and leadership.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and debug complex software solutions.
Design and build prototype applications.
Research best practices, new tools, and technology.
Work closely with technical staff to understand problems with software and resolve them.
Work closely with the Product team to understand business requirements.
Assist in the development of software technical documentation.
Support SRE in our effort to evolve CI/CD processes and stability.
