Job summary

Autodoc is seeking a Senior Customs Classification Specialist to lead accurate HS code determinations and global tariff classifications across EU, UK, and beyond. You will interpret technical product specs and ensure compliance with German, EU, and US export controls.

The role emphasizes monitoring trade laws, supporting audits, and driving classification processes in a fast-growing European e-commerce environment. English required; German is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or technical vocational training.
• Strong technical understanding, incl. ability to read technical drawings and documentation.
• Experience with ECCN classification.
• Experience with EU customs practice and HS tariff classification.
• Fluency in English; German language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Accurately determine HS Code and assign EZT, TARIC (EU), TARES (Switzerland) and UK Global Tariff classifications.
• Technical classification of goods per German, EU and US laws; monitor trade regulations.
• Analyze product specifications to determine correct classifications.
• Monitor changes to HS Codes, TARIC and export controls; update internal processes.
• Support audits and investigations related to customs classifications.
• Develop and optimize classification processes; coordinate with authorities and external providers.
