Job summary

Goldman Recruitment - Executive Search / Search & Selection is seeking a Senior GL Controller for an international client in Warsaw. The role involves coordinating monthly closings and ensuring accurate financial reporting across markets with a hybrid work setup.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in accounting/controlling, strong IFRS/GAAP knowledge, VAT/CIT familiarity, advanced Excel, and English fluency. This position supports tax, audits, and process improvements in a dynamic global

Qualifications

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in Accounting, GL/R2R, Controlling or similar.
• Experience in international environment or Shared Service Centre supporting multiple countries.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with VAT, CIT and statutory reporting.
• Strong Excel; experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Take part in the monthly closing process and ensure financial information is complete, accurate and delivered on time.
• Support the preparation and analysis of monthly financial results, including investigating significant variances.
• Support Balance Sheet reconciliations and ensure appropriate supporting documentation is maintained.
• Cooperate with finance and business teams across different markets.
• Coordinate local tax and reporting activities, including VAT and CIT, together with external advisors and service providers.
• Support the preparation of statutory financial statements.
• Assist with internal and external audits, including gathering documentation and supporting process reviews.
• Contribute to improving and standardizing accounting processes and controls.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities in cooperation with the Business Control team.
• Participate in R2R-related projects focused on harmonization and process optimization.
• Identify opportunities to automate and digitalize finance processes.
• Support the implementation of new finance tools and solutions.
