Our Client, a dynamic and fast-growing global leader with headquarters in USA, is currently seeking a Senior GL Accountant to join their Corporate Finance team.
Senior GL Accountant
As part of a dynamic finance team, you will play a key role in managing accounting processes for European legal entities, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and continuous process improvement in a fast-paced, international environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end accounting for European legal entities, with a focus on Poland and selected EU countries.
- Ensure compliance with Polish accounting, VAT, and CIT regulations, while supporting statutory requirements in other European markets.
- Prepare and review VAT and Corporate Income Tax returns.
- Coordinate external accounting firms, tax advisors, and auditors across multiple countries.
- Lead month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
- Support statutory and group audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit requests.
- Collaborate with Finance, Tax, and Treasury teams on cross-border accounting matters.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and increase efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (ACCA or equivalent qualification is an advantage).
- At least 7 years of accounting experience in a multi-entity and/or international environment.
- Strong knowledge of Polish statutory accounting, VAT, and Corporate Income Tax regulations.
- Familiarity with accounting requirements in at least one other European country (e.g. Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, or France).
- Hands-on experience with month-end close, reconciliations, accruals, and intercompany accounting.
- Experience working with external accounting providers and auditors.
- Good knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and well-organized, with strong analytical and communication skills.
- Interest in process improvement, automation, and AI solutions within Finance.
