Job summary

Arrow Electronics is seeking a Mid/Senior General Ledger Accountant with German to join our European GL team. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, tax compliance, and month-end close across Europe, with exposure to audits and cross-border projects.

The role offers continuous process improvements in a dynamic finance environment, requiring strong VAT/CIT expertise, IFRS knowledge, and fluency in English and German. Hybrid work from Poland offices is available.

Qualifications

• Strong VAT and CIT reporting experience within EU region.
• Solid IFRS knowledge and general accounting processes.
• Fluent English and working German (B2-C1).
• Advanced Excel and data manipulation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure with high volume transactions.
• Proactive in improving accounting processes.

Responsibilities

• VAT preparation, submission, Intrastat reporting, and VAT returns.
• Reconcile VAT accounts and ensure correct VAT coding.
• Prepare internal reporting schedules for Europe and US head office.
• CIT reporting packages and statutory/compliance work.
• Support SOX controls and audits with tax authorities.
• Assist with e-Invoicing, European consolidation, and ad-hoc tasks.
• Identify process improvements and assist accounting team.

As a Senior General Ledger Accountant, you will be part of a large, international GL team responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, tax compliance, and month-end close activities across the European region. The role offers exposure to audits, cross-border projects, and continuous process improvements in a dynamic finance environment.

What will you be doing?

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Include

• VAT Preparation & Submission: Control and prepare VAT, Intrastat and Sales List Reporting, submission of Vat Returns, Intrastat declarations and related compliance.
• Reconciliation & Compliance: Reconcile VAT accounts, ensuring the accuracy of VAT coding on invoices, and maintaining compliance with local tax authority guidelines. Prepare VAT to GL, CIT & other complex balance sheet reconciliations.
• Internal Reporting: Prepare and be responsible for all necessary internal reporting schedules required within Europe and to US head office on a monthly & quarterly basis.
• CIT: Facilities CIT reporting packages
• SOX: Carries out relevant Sarbanes Oxley controls.
• Statutory accounting and corporation tax work & the related reconciliations.
• Audit Support: Liaising with tax authorities and assisting with VAT audits and inquiries.
• Project work: e-Invoicing, European consolidation & other projects. Provide support and assistance to the Accounting Manager on ad-hoc tasks.
• Involvement with developing new/efficient processes/procedures within the accounting team.
• Identify process problems and propose improvements or course of action. Research accounting literature.
• Support other accountants within the team on a variety of tasks to meet the total needs of the finance department.

What are we looking for?

We would be happy to meet candidates who meet the following criteria:

• Strong experience with VAT and CIT (Corporate income taxes) reporting within EU region, all-around accounting & complex balance sheet reconciliations
• Very good knowledge of general accounting and reporting processes, including IFRS compliance
• Fluent English & working German (B2-C1) language skills.
• Experience with financial analyses, accrued, prepaid taxes, journal entries, VAT & CIT balance sheet reconciliations, statutory accounts.
• Advanced Excel and data manipulation skills.
• You are a results-driven person.
• You can work under pressure, with high volume of transactions, and meet deadlines.
• You've got the ability to prioritize your tasks.
