Job summary
GlobalLogic is seeking a Lead Accountant to own all GL accounting for our German entity, including monthly journal entries, reconciliations, balance sheet reviews, and German GAAP (HGB) statutory reporting, coordinating the annual audit.
This senior, largely autonomous role requires interpreting German tax law, managing relationships with Wirtschaftsprüfer and Steuerberater, and mentoring junior accountants supporting the entity. Fluency in German and English is essential.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including German statutory reporting.
- Fluency in German and English, with the ability to manage statutory filings and auditor relationships.
- Strong knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) including Jahresabschluss.
- Understanding of German tax law including VAT, Gewerbesteuer, and corporate income tax.
- Experience with US GAAP reconciliation and ERP systems such as SAP/Oracle/NetSuite.
Responsibilities
- Own monthly, quarterly, and year-end close for the German entity.
- Process intercompany transactions and ensure proper elimination
- Maintain documentation for external auditors.
- Review and approve supporting documentation before GL entries.
