Job summary

GlobalLogic seeks a Lead Accountant to own all GL accounting for the German entity, including month-end close, statutory reporting under HGB, and coordination of the annual German audit. You will manage auditor relationships and ensure compliance across tax and reporting requirements.

The role combines senior accounting expertise with mentoring, cross-functional collaboration, and a focus on accurate, audit-ready filings in a fast-growing tech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with German statutory reporting.
• Fluency in German and English, both spoken and written.
• Strong knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and Jahresabschluss preparation.
• Experience managing German statutory audits (Wirtschaftsprüfung) and working with Wirtschaftsprüfer.
• Knowledge of German tax law including VAT, Gewerbesteuer, and corporate income tax.
• Understanding of US GAAP and cross-border reconciliation.
• ERP experience with Oracle, NetSuite, SAP.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and year-end close for the German entity.
• Manage intercompany transactions and eliminations.
• Maintain documentation for external auditors.
• Prepare Jahresabschluss and support the Lagebericht as applicable.
• Lead responses to German statutory auditor requests and remediation.
• Mentor junior GL accountants and serve as SME on German statutory matters.
