Job summary

Nordea is seeking Senior/Expert Data Scientists in Poland to design, build, and scale AI solutions across Operations. You will shape high-impact AI opportunities, prototype and deploy production-grade AI apps, and implement RAG and LLM-powered systems, working closely with engineers and product owners.

You will drive experimentation, model evaluation, and governance, ensuring security and Responsible AI while mentoring others and promoting AI adoption across the organization.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Data Science, ML, CS, Maths, Stats, Physics, Software Eng or related field.
• Equivalent practical experience is highly valued.
• 3+ years delivering production-grade AI or advanced analytics solutions.
• Strong Python and modern AI/ML framework experience.
• Hands-on Generative AI with LLMs, RAG, or agentic frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Identify and shape high-impact AI opportunities with business stakeholders.
• Prototype, build, deploy, and monitor production-grade AI applications.
• Design and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation and LLM-powered solutions.
• Collaborate with product owners, engineers, and business experts to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Drive experimentation, evaluation frameworks, and model quality assessments.
• Contribute to AI architecture, reusable frameworks, and best practices.
• Ensure solutions meet security, governance, and Responsible AI requirements.
• Provide coaching and technical leadership to adopt AI across Operations.
