Job summary

Nordea is seeking Senior/Expert Data Scientists to design, build, and scale AI solutions across Operations. You will shape high-impact Generative AI opportunities, prototype and deploy production-grade AI applications, and implement RAG/LLM-powered systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure security, governance, and responsible AI practices.

You will lead experimentation, model evaluation, and contribute to reusable AI frameworks, driving adoption across the organization

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Data Science, ML, CS, Math, Stats, Physics, Software Eng or related field; practical experience valued.
• 3+ years of experience delivering production-grade AI/ML solutions.
• Strong Python development skills with modern AI/ML frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI using LLMs, RAG, agentic frameworks or similar tech.
• Proven ability to move ideas from prototype to scalable production solutions.

Responsibilities

• Identify and shape high-impact AI and Generative AI opportunities with business stakeholders.
• Prototype, build, deploy, and monitor production-grade AI applications.
• Design and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and LLM-powered solutions.
• Collaborate with product owners, engineers, architects, and business experts to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Drive experimentation, evaluation frameworks, and model quality assessments.
• Contribute to AI architecture, reusable frameworks, and engineering best practices.
• Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, governance, and Responsible AI requirements.
• Support adoption of AI across Operations through coaching and knowledge sharing.
