Job summary

Markem-Imaje is seeking an Environmental Product Compliance leader to steer the environmental strategy across its product range. You will report to the Global Hardware Safety and Product Compliance Manager and collaborate with R&D, regulatory experts, and laboratories worldwide.

You will drive environmental certifications, ensure ongoing conformity, and guide stakeholders through regulatory changes, with occasional travel and a focus on reducing compliance costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in sciences (Environmental Regulatory, Compliance, Materials Science).
• +5 years of experience in Environmental regulations across regions (EU/US/Asia).
• Experience with ERP software (SAP) and regulatory data systems.
• Good knowledge of Excel macros.
• Willingness to travel up to ~10% domestically and internationally.
• Fluent English required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in product development assessing environmental compliance (ROHS, REACH, TSCA, PFAS).
• Prepare and support certification engineers with requirements during development.
• Stay updated on applicable standards and regulations and adapt guidance accordingly.
• Inform stakeholders about forecasted regulatory evolutions and adjust processes.
• Assist regional customer services and trade/import teams as needed.
• Lead remediation actions during product lifecycle when needed.
• Maintain environmental conformity by data collection and authority reporting (EPR, SCIP, WEEE, Battery, Packaging waste).
• Be involved in sustainability and carbon footprint assessments.
• Propose improvements to compliance methodology to reduce costs and time.
