The Role
As an Environmental Product Compliance leader, you’ll be reporting to the Global Hardware Safety and Product Compliance Manager (based in France) and be part of a global compliance team spread across the world.
Whilst collaborating with the local R&D organization, other regulatory compliance experts across the word and 3rd party laboratories for testing purposes; you’ll oversee the environmental certifications for all range of group technology.
You’ll have an opportunity to be the leader of the product environmental strategy defining the roadmap to execute and the process to apply.
What you will do:
- Participate in product development assessing and validating the environmental product compliance (ROHS, REACH, TSCA, PFAS…).
- Prepare and support the certification engineers by providing requirements and process description during development stage.
- Proactively stay up to date on the standards, directives, and regulations applicable to our ranges of products to keep them conform.
- Inform/educate stakeholders of any forecasted evolutions/changes to the standards, directives and regulations and adapt the approach (guidance and process).
- Assist the regional customer services or trade/importation services to support the business in regions.
- Prepared and able to take remedial/corrective actions during product lifecycle.
- Maintain the environmental conformity by leading environmental data collection campaign, authority reporting (EPR, SCIP, WEEE, Battery, Packaging waste).
- Be involved in sustainability and carbon footprint assessment.
- Pro-actively propose improvements in scope, process, partnerships to increase our compliance methodology/quality or reduce compliance cost/time.
What you need to have:
- Bachelor/master’s degree in sciences (preferably Environmental Regulatory, Compliance, Material Science Engineering).
- +5 years of experience in Environmental regulations with good knowledge of European, US-Canada and Asian environmental regulations (ROHS, REACH, EPR, Waste reporting, PFAS, PPWR…).
- Project management experience or accreditation would be a plus (PMP, Prince2…).
- Experience in usage of Enterprise Resource Planning Software (SAP or equivalent), Electronic Document Management System and Database management or LCA tools.
- Good knowledge of Excel macro.
- The position involves rare travels and may reach approximately 10% at time, both domestically and internationally.
