Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Krakow seeks a Principal Embedded C/C++ Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing software for embedded platforms with constrained resources. You will work closely with hardware engineers to understand schematics and performance constraints, and you will apply deep C/C++ expertise across real-time systems.

The role requires at least 10 years of embedded experience, OpenWRT know-how, and strong debugging skills across hardware and software layers.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of professional embedded software experience.
• Experience with OpenWRT is required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain embedded software using modern C/C++.
• Develop firmware for microcontrollers, embedded Linux systems, or RTOS-based platforms.
• Debug using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/SWD tools, and software debuggers.
• Write robust, maintainable, and testable code following best practices and coding standards.
• Integrate with real-time operating systems or bare-metal environments.
