Job summary

Johnson Controls in Poland seeks a Senior Data Scientist to lead the development of an Agentic AI Platform that uses autonomous, tool-using AI agents to plan, reason, and execute complex business workflows.

The role requires hands-on experience with LLM-based application development, agent orchestration, and Azure cloud services. You will mentor juniors, set technical direction for GenAI initiatives, and collaborate with enterprise teams.

Qualifications

• Professional experience in data science / ML with building LLM or GenAI applications in production.
• Hands-on experience with agentic frameworks LangChain or LangGraph.
• Strong understanding of LLM application patterns including prompt engineering.
• Expert-level Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, async programming, API development with FastAPI).
• Experience with vector databases and embeddings (Azure AI Search, Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant, FAISS, or pgvector).
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with large-scale data.
• Experience with Azure services: Azure OpenAI / AI Foundry, Azure ML, Azure AI Search, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, or Synapse.
• Solid grounding in classical ML: supervised/unsupervised learning, model evaluation, and hyperparameter tuning; TensorFlow or PyTorch.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and productionize multi-agent systems and orchestration patterns.
• Develop end-to-end RAG pipelines and embeddings-based retrieval.
• Integrate agents with enterprise systems via tool calling and MCP-like patterns.
• Build LLM evaluation frameworks including metrics and A/B testing.
• Implement guardrails, safety, governance, and prompt-injection defenses.
• Fine-tune LLMs using LoRA/PEFT and manage MLOps for the platform.
• Design and evaluate classical ML models to complement agentic workflows.
• Own MLOps/LLMOps workflows: tracking, versioning, CI/CD, observability.
• Collaborate with data engineers on data quality and governance across Azure data stack.
• Translate business problems into agentic AI solutions and present to senior stakeholders.
• Mentor juniors and lead code/design reviews.
