Job summary

EPAM Systems in Poland is seeking a Senior AI & Agentic Systems Engineer (Java) to advance enterprise Java with cutting-edge AI. You will design, implement, and scale AI-powered backends and autonomous agent workflows using Java/Spring Boot, with LLM integrations and secure architectures.

The role offers hybrid work with offices in Kraków, Wrocław, or Gdańsk and collaboration with cross-functional teams across Poland. Strong Java, Spring Boot, and AI experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development with a strong Java backend focus.
• Hands-on Spring Boot experience in production-grade applications.
• Proven REST API design and development experience.
• Experience with AI agents or LLM integration and enterprise AI projects.
• Experience with Spring AI or LangChain4J frameworks.
• Prompt engineering knowledge and Python basics for AI tooling.
• Experience with AWS or GCP for AI/ML workloads.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered apps and agentic systems on Java/Spring Boot backends.
• Integrate LLMs into enterprise applications with reliability and security.
• Architect autonomous AI agent workflows for multi-step tasks.
• Build RESTful APIs interfacing AI components with larger ecosystems.
• Evaluate AI frameworks (Spring AI, LangChain4J) to accelerate features.
• Collaborate with data scientists and product teams to productionize AI concepts.
• Refine prompt engineering for specific business use cases.
• Contribute to architectural decisions on AI systems and data pipelines.
• Participate in code reviews for AI and backend components.
• Stay current with AI landscape; advocate new tools and best practices.
• Mentor teammates on AI integration patterns.
