Job summary

WPP in Warsaw is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and scale data pipelines powering Open Intelligence. You will build robust ETL/ELT workflows, optimize data models, and collaborate with platform, analytics and product teams.

The role requires 4+ years of data engineering experience, strong Python/Go/Scala skills, and familiarity with Spark, GCP, Terraform, and Kubernetes. This is a hybrid position based in Poland with relocation not provided.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering.
• Strong Python/Go/Scala data wrangling.
• Experience with Spark and large-scale datasets.
• Familiar with CI/CD, version control, and testing practices.
• Experience with GCP, Terraform and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and processing frameworks.
• Develop reliable ETL/ELT workflows to support analytics and operations.
• Optimize data models, storage, and integration for large data volumes.
• Collaborate with engineering, analytics, product, and platform teams.
• Improve data quality, observability, and performance across systems.
• Support real-time and batch data processing using cloud-native tech.
• Contribute to architecture standards and best practices.
• Implement monitoring, testing, and automation to reduce failures.
• Troubleshoot complex data and infrastructure issues.
• Help governance, security, and compliance across data environments.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative culture.
• Evaluate new tools and technologies to improve scalability.
