Job summary

Workatbackbase is hiring a Data Engineer to design, develop, test, and implement data solutions for our Engaging Banking Platform. You will work on data ingestion, processing, validations, and visualisation within a Lakehouse architecture, with emphasis on quality and governance.

You will build scalable AI-enabled data workflows, rigorous data pipelines, and dashboards used by banks worldwide. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be key in delivering reliable, compliant data platforms.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, preferably in Databricks.
• Strong skills in Python, SQL and Java; database programming expertise.
• Experience with Data Lakehouse concepts and Delta Lake; data governance awareness.
• Cloud experience with AWS or Azure; excellent problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data pipelines and objects in Data Lakehouse.
• Create and maintain data ingestion from multiple sources (RDBMS, CDC, streaming).
• Develop data models to support reporting and analytics; contribute to AI models.
• Build interactive dashboards/reports with visualizations alongside UX designers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into data-driven solutions.
