Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel IT is seeking a skilled cloud engineer to manage, develop and support the infrastructure powering global systems. This role focuses on delivering scalable, secure cloud environments to enable timely and reliable services worldwide.

You will design and maintain AWS landing zones, automate provisioning with Terraform, and ensure governance, security, and operational reliability across environments, while collaborating with engineering and security teams.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS platform engineering and landing zones.
• Experience with AWS multi-account environments, governance, and standardized configurations.
• Proficient in Terraform/IaC for reusable modules and automation.
• Solid understanding of AWS networking and security (VPCs, subnets, IAM, encryption).
• Experience with cloud monitoring, logging, and incident on-call support.
• Scripting in Bash or Python to automate operations.
• Nice to have: Kubernetes, serverless AWS services, CloudFormation; multi-cloud exposure.

How You Create Impact

• Develop, maintain, and continuously improve AWS landing zones and multi-account cloud environments.
• Automate AWS account onboarding and provisioning, ensuring new accounts follow standardized configurations, policies, and security requirements.
• Design and maintain shared AWS networking capabilities, including VPCs, subnets, routing, connectivity, and network security.
• Implement and maintain cloud governance, guardrails, IAM, encryption, and security controls across AWS environments.
• Develop reusable and maintainable Terraform modules and Infrastructure as Code automation to standardize and simplify cloud infrastructure provisioning.
• Monitor the health, security, and operational status of shared cloud platforms and continuously improve their reliability and maintainability.
• Lead the investigation and resolution of complex cloud infrastructure incidents, including participation in shared on-call support for critical incidents.
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation covering landing zones, platform components, governance processes, configurations, and operational procedures.

What We Would Like You To Bring

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS, including designing, implementing, and operating production cloud environments, with a focus on AWS platform engineering and landing zones.
• Proven experience with AWS multi-account environments, including account provisioning and onboarding, AWS Organizations, governance, policies, guardrails, and standardized account configurations.
• Strong practical experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code, including developing and maintaining reusable modules and automation for consistent cloud infrastructure provisioning.
• Solid understanding of AWS networking and security, including VPCs, subnets, routing, connectivity, IAM, encryption, security controls, vulnerability remediation, and cloud governance.
• Experience with cloud platform monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational support, including AWS-native services such as CloudWatch, as well as troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues and participating in shared on-call support for critical incidents.
• Strong scripting or programming skills in Bash, Python, or similar languages, used to automate cloud platform operations and infrastructure management.
• Nice to have: experience with Kubernetes, serverless AWS services, AWS CloudFormation, or advanced cloud cost optimization; exposure to Azure or GCP and multi-cloud environments is also welcome.
• Strong communication and documentation skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, security, operations, and development teams; candidates are welcome to apply even if they do not meet all of the preferred requirements.
