Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as an escalation point for Helpdesk issues related to Microsoft 365, endpoint management, identity access, email, collaboration tools, and general cloud services.
- Administer and support Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, CoPilot, SharePoint, OneDrive, Entra ID, Intune, Defender, and related admin portals.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve escalated incidents involving user access, mailbox behavior, Teams functionality, device compliance, conditional access, and security alerts.
- Manage, monitor, and test backup processes for supported systems, including periodic restore validation, documentation of test results, and follow up on any backup failures.
- Assist with server builds, maintenance, patching, configuration, monitoring, and lifecycle support for Windows Server and cloud hosted infrastructure.
- Support onboarding, offboarding, license assignment, group membership, mailbox access, MFA registration, and other identity lifecycle activities.
- Perform recurring administrative reviews such as inactive user checks, mailbox permission reviews, shared mailbox access validation, group membership cleanup, and stale device follow up.
- Prepare operational reporting for open escalations, license usage, asset inventory, backup test results, compliance exceptions, and recurring support trends.
- Create and maintain operational documentation, knowledge base articles, standard operating procedures, and escalation notes for repeatable support processes.
- Partner with internal teams and client stakeholders to complete service requests, support technology changes, and communicate progress in a clear and professional manner.
Technical Scope
- Microsoft 365 administration including Exchange Online, Teams, Copilot, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft 365 Apps, licensing, mail flow, and collaboration services.
- Microsoft Entra ID administration including user accounts, groups, MFA, conditional access, enterprise applications, identity governance, and synchronization related troubleshooting.
- Microsoft Intune and endpoint management including device enrollment, compliance policies, configuration profiles, application deployment, Windows Autopilot, device inventory, and device troubleshooting.
- Microsoft Defender and security operations support including alert triage, device security posture, Safe Links, Safe Attachments, anti phishing policies, and remediation coordination.
- Windows Server and cloud infrastructure support including server provisioning, patching, monitoring, resource configuration, access management, and routine maintenance.
- Backup administration and recovery readiness including scheduled backup review, restore testing, evidence collection, failure investigation, and recovery documentation.
- License management support including Microsoft 365 license assignment, removal, usage review, license availability tracking, and escalation of subscription or procurement needs.
- Endpoint, identity, email, and collaboration troubleshooting across Windows, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive sync, mobile access, shared mailboxes, permissions, and profile issues.
- Operational support across ticketing systems, change activities, access reviews, audit evidence requests, monitoring alerts, recurring managed services tasks, and monthly service reporting.
Required Skill Set and Competencies
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, licensing, and user support scenarios.
- Ability to troubleshoot escalated technical issues by analyzing symptoms, reviewing logs, validating configurations, identifying root cause, and documenting resolution steps.
- Experience supporting Windows endpoints, Microsoft Intune managed devices, device compliance, application deployment, device inventory, and common workstation issues.
- Foundational knowledge of Windows Server administration, Active Directory concepts, DNS, DHCP, group policy, permissions, and server maintenance practices.
- Understanding of identity and access management concepts, including MFA, conditional access, role based access, least privilege, and account lifecycle management.
- Ability to complete recurring administrative tasks accurately, consistently, and with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow and improve standard operating procedures, maintain accurate ticket notes, create knowledge articles, and contribute to repeatable support processes.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to end users, Helpdesk team members, internal stakeholders, and client contacts.
- Demonstrated ownership, attention to detail, prioritization, and follow through when managing escalations, maintenance tasks, audit items, service requests, and operational reporting.
- Ability to identify recurring support patterns, surface process gaps, and take ownership of routine work that reduces escalation volume for senior technical resources.
Preferred Skill Set
- Experience with Microsoft Defender XDR, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office 365, Microsoft Secure Score, and security alert investigation.
- Experience with backup platforms, restore testing, disaster recovery procedures, and audit evidence collection for backup and recovery controls.
- Experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows Server workloads in Azure, VMware, or other hosted infrastructure environments.
- Experience managing and troubleshooting networking infrastructure, including routers, switches, wireless access points, network connectivity, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and basic firewall related issues.
- Experience using PowerShell for Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Entra ID, Intune, reporting, automation, and repeatable administrative tasks.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar IT service management platforms, including incident, request, change, problem, and knowledge management processes.
- Exposure to ShareGate, migration planning, mailbox migrations, SharePoint migrations, permissions reviews, or collaboration platform consolidation projects.
- Microsoft certifications such as MS 900, MS 102, MD 102, AZ 900, AZ 104, SC 900, SC 300, or equivalent hands on experience.
- Experience supporting managed services clients in a multi tenant environment with a focus on clear communication, operational consistency, reporting, and client satisfaction.
Education and Work Experience
- Graduate or postgraduate degree in an IT stream, or equivalent practical experience.
- Lateral candidates with three to six years of relevant experience are preferred.
- Experience in client facing technology delivery, managed services, or enterprise application support is strongly preferred.
