Job summary

Peloton is seeking a highly accomplished backend software engineer to lead and build customer facing backend services across web, retail and other sales channels. You will be a hands‑on technical lead on a team building scalable and disjoint backend platforms for internal and external users.

You will guide architecture, ensure reliable delivery, and mentor engineers while collaborating with product managers and designers in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years software development experience with leadership over delivery of high impact projects.
• Experience with Java, Kotlin, Python or similar languages.
• Experience building and scaling RESTful microservices.
• Experience with Kafka and Amazon SQS.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch.
• Experience with Spring Boot, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience in Unit Testing/Test Driven Development.
• Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS/GCP).
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.
• Knowledge of GraphQL.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Datadog.
• Desire to learn and mentor engineers; agile mindset with end‑to‑end ownership.

• Guide the team to make strategic technical decisions enabling fast, reliable execution.
