Affirm, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Identity team, focused on building robust backend systems in Python and Kotlin. You will shape quarterly technical direction, collaborate across product and analytics, and drive improvements in reliability, scale, and operability while mentori ng teammates.

The role is remote within Poland, offering a deep, hands-on coding focus and opportunities to influence global growth.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale using Python or Kotlin.
• Track record of developing highly available distributed systems with AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes.
• Ability to define a technical plan for delivering a significant feature or system component with an elegant design.
• Ability to write high quality code that is easily understood and reused by others.
• Experience making large codebase changes safely with a suite of tools and practices.
• Proactive in seeking feedback and owning personal growth, with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• You will own and deliver quarterly goals for your team, guiding engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems.
• You will collaborate with product management, design and analytics to articulate constraints and trade-offs.
