Job summary

InPost Pay is building its own fintech platform from the ground up, offering engineers the chance to shape architecture and create scalable payment solutions at scale.

We’re building a lean, AI-native engineering team in Poland with hybrid work (1 day/week in Warsaw or Cracow). Senior Backend Engineer duties include end-to-end ownership of payment domain features and distributed backend services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in backend engineering (Java/C#/Rust/Node.js).
• Design/operate distributed event-driven systems.
• Production services, APIs, CI/CD, observability.
• Know sagas, idempotency, outbox concepts.
• Relational DB skills, PostgreSQL preferred.
• Automated testing: unit/integration/contract.
• Use AI tooling (Copilot/ChatGPT) in daily dev.
• English B2+.

Responsibilities

• Design and build event-driven backends for payments.
• Develop scalable, secure APIs for financial ops.
• Participate in full SDLC from design to production support.
• Design domain events and cross-system integrations.
• Collaborate to shape roadmaps and tech direction.
• Investigate incidents and drive platform improvements.
• Mentor engineers and promote best practices.
