Job summary

WP Engine in Poland seeks a senior backend engineer to architect and implement backend capabilities powering our high-scale cloud infrastructure. You will operate at the intersection of software engineering, distributed systems, and production reliability, owning services from design through observability.

You will work with Go/Python and other modern languages, build APIs, manage data stores, and contribute to CI/CD, IaC, and cloud-native patterns.

Qualifications

• Backend services or web platform development experience.
• Cloud platforms (GCP or AWS) experience.
• Understanding of distributed systems and scalability.
• CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience.
• Cloud security fundamentals.
• Strong engineering practices and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement backend capabilities for global cloud infrastructure.
• Operate at the intersection of software engineering, distributed systems, and production reliability.
• Own services from design through observability and production support.
• Develop APIs and data access patterns; work with relational data stores.
• Contribute to incident response, performance tuning, and reliability improvements.
