Job summary

Piano is looking for a senior developer to join the Customer Data Platform team in Warsaw. You will advance AI-first workflows using Claude Code and own high-throughput event pipelines, Elasticsearch queries, and sandboxed execution of customer logic.

You will collaborate across teams, drive production deployments with Helm and FluxCD, and take on on-call rotations to keep systems available for global brands. Strong Node.js/TypeScript skills and production ownership are essential.

Qualifications

• Daily, fluent Claude Code practice on production code and sound judgment on agent trust.
• Strong Node.js and TypeScript expertise with ES modules, strict tsconfig, and testing (Jest/Mocha).
• Deep Elasticsearch experience: mappings, reindexing, deep pagination and performance under load.
• Kafka at scale: partitioning, consumer lag, dead-letter handling and lifecycle.
• Production ownership including on-call, instrumentation, and controlled rollouts.

Responsibilities

• Deliver through Claude Code and raise the team's bar with better context and tooling.
• Own event-pipeline services under load spikes, with backpressure and retries.
• Own Elasticsearch query layer including deep pagination and memory considerations.
• Own sandboxed execution of customer logic and integrations with other Piano products.
• Drive cross-team integration work and coordinate rollouts across services.
• Scope epics with trade-offs and document decisions for other teams.
• Review teammates' work and maintain determinism and test coverage.
• Run production changes end-to-end via Helm and FluxCD GitOps.
• Take recurring on-call rotation: alerts, triage, hotfixes, and root cause communication.
