Job summary

Sowelo Consulting is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Poland to design, build, and maintain high-volume back-end services and data pipelines. You will lead architectural decisions, optimize relational databases, and contribute across Python and React/TypeScript while championing AI-first engineering practices.

You will mentor mid-level engineers, collaborate with product and QA, and drive end-to-end delivery across cross-service dependencies in a hybrid work setup with offices in Poland.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience on production systems.
• Deep Python expertise for back-end services (Django/DRF, FastAPI) and API design/testing.
• Strong relational DB skills (PostgreSQL/Aurora, MySQL, Oracle) and migrations.
• Asynchronous/event-driven experience with queues or streaming (Kafka, SQS/SNS, Kinesis).
• Cloud experience, AWS preferred; design leadership across features from concept to production.
• Proficiency in React/TypeScript and end-to-end delivery ownership.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own back-end Python services powering APIs, document workflows, and data pipelines.
• Lead design on non-trivial features, write design docs, and drive decisions to closure.
• Build and evolve event-driven processing for high-volume production data.
• Contribute across stack with front-end work to ship features end-to-end.
• Model and optimize relational data, including schema design and migrations.
• Improve reliability via on-call participation, incident response, and root-cause fixes.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and raise engineering standards through code review.
• Collaborate with product, UX, QA, and adjacent teams on cross-service dependencies.
• Apply AI-first practices with tooling, prompts, and guardrails in the delivery loop.
