Job summary

WhyHireWrong? is seeking senior backend engineers to build reliable systems around high-value, fragmented data. You will design services, data models, pipelines, and evaluation loops as part of the Core Backend team. Your work will strengthen data completeness, decision transparency, and product value.

You will join a high-ownership team responsible for business-critical infrastructure, with emphasis on fast iteration and strong collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Excellent craft and relentless pursuit of excellence.
• Full ownership of work with minimal oversight.
• Proactive communication—surface blockers and keep stakeholders informed.
• Comfort with experimentation and rapid iteration on hard problems.
• Strong fundamentals in system design, debugging, and problem solving.
• Proficiency in Python (main stack).
• Experience with serverless technologies and cloud environments.
• Familiarity with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities

• Design services, data models, pipelines, and evaluation loops for core backend systems.
