Job summary

EMIL Group is seeking a (Senior) Software Engineer (f/m/d/x) to design and build core platform capabilities for an AI-enabled insurance platform. You will work on distributed systems, platform architecture, and developer tooling to enable teams to deliver insurance products efficiently.

You will collaborate with product and customer teams, participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and help evolve our cloud-native stack on AWS with microservices, gRPC, and modern tooling.

Qualifications

• Experience building complex production systems or platform services.
• Experience with distributed systems and service architectures.
• Proficiency in Golang, Python, and/or Node.js/TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or similar).
• Familiarity with microservices, containers, and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and build core platform services for a cloud-native insurance system.
• Contribute to scalable, reliable microservices on AWS container infrastructure.
• Design APIs, metadata models, and workflows for complex insurance products.
• Help shape systems that are structured, versioned, and amenable to automation and AI workflows.
• Review code and mentor engineers to foster strong engineering fundamentals.
