Job summary

Techland in Poland is seeking a senior programmer to research, develop, and maintain gameplay and cinematic animation systems, ensuring flexible use by AI, designers and animators.

You will own animation features from content tools to engine runtime, collaborate across disciplines, and profile bottlenecks while documenting workflows.

The role requires five years of experience, expert C/C++, memory/performance optimization, and excellent English.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional programming experience.
• Expertise in C/C++.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Experience with multi-threaded and allocator-aware programming.
• Experience with memory and performance optimization.
• Experience with animation graphs, blend trees and state machines (Unreal, Havok Animation, Morpheme or similar).
• Solid understanding of 3D maths and linear algebra.
• Proficiency in algorithm design; understanding of complexity and software architecture and design.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable and extensible code with attention to reusability.
• Great communication skills, enthusiasm and initiative.
• Very good command of English.

Responsibilities

• Research, develop, maintain and improve gameplay and cinematic animation systems, flexibly usable by AI, designers and animators.
• Own gameplay and cinematic animation features from content tools to the engine runtime.
• Collaborate with programmers, designers, and artists; gather requirements and troubleshoot to improve animation workflows.
• Work with animation leads/director to raise animation quality.
• Profile and optimize bottlenecks in data pipelines and tools (performance, memory, IO).
• Create documentation for gameplay and cinematic teams.
• Stay current with animation tech trends and developments.
