Job summary

Kake is seeking an experienced Video Software Engineer to help develop and maintain a cutting-edge real-time video platform that powers broadcast, sports, league, and streaming partners. This role focuses on low-latency, high-availability pipelines across cloud and on‑prem environments, spanning image processing, encoding/decoding, and transport.

You should bring strong C++ and Rust expertise, Linux and Windows experience, and fluency with AWS, GStreamer, and modern video codecs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/Engineering or equivalent
Significant experience programming in C++ and Rust
Experience on Windows and Linux development
Strong knowledge of AWS services (S3/EC2) and multimedia frameworks (GStreamer)
Deep understanding of video codecs (HEVC) and streaming tech (MPEG-TS, HLS, WebRTC)
Familiarity with NVIDIA GPUs (CUDA) and related tooling
Excellent written and verbal English communication

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy low-latency video processing pipelines for cloud and on-prem environments
Optimize real-time video processing including encoding/decoding and transport workflows
Support deployment, monitoring, and operations of video services
Evaluate new technologies to improve performance and scalability
Provide on-call support for field operations as needed
Maintain technical documentation and diagrams
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile setup
