Job summary

Aura is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to shape its AI Intelligence Platform. You will own end-to-end architecture and build scalable systems in Python and TypeScript on AWS, focusing on security and privacy as foundational pillars.

This deeply technical, hands-on role requires leadership across teams and a track record of shipping complex, large-scale distributed systems that protect millions of Aura customers worldwide.

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• End-to-end ownership on complex projects from architecture through production.
• Strong knowledge of software design, data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• In-depth cloud technology knowledge and judicious use of tools (serverless vs containers).
• Experience building systems handling sensitive or regulated data with security/privacy as core design constraints.

Responsibilities

• Design, document, and drive architecture for platform components ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and alignment with goals.
• Own complex initiatives from design through deployment and iteration, translating goals into technical requirements.
• Build the data foundation that unifies Aura's data for intelligence generation.
• Architect data access for AI agents with least-privilege and strong isolation.
• Create systems turning intelligence into personalized insights and actions for customers.
• Make high-leverage technology choices balancing scalability, cost, and simplicity.
• Champion security, privacy, observability, testing, and operational excellence.
• Mentor engineers on design challenges and performance tuning.
