Job summary

Esko is seeking an experienced software engineer to join the AI Platform team in Prague, focusing on knowledge representation, retrieval, and validated AI workflows. You will own substantial technical areas, collaborate with product teams, and shape reusable APIs for AI-powered knowledge-enabled systems.

The role requires building scalable, secure platforms with strong emphasis on provenance, versioning, and multi-tenant isolation, while partnering with domain experts across international teams

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering experience designing, building, and operating production systems in Python, TypeScript, Java, or a similar language.
• At least 5 years’ experience in a software engineering role, preferably including ownership of a platform, API or shared-services product.
• Experience building knowledge, retrieval, or rule systems and choosing the right formalism (schema, rules engine, graph, or retrieval).
• Practical experience with RAG, information extraction, and structured validation (JSON Schema, Pydantic, or equivalent).
• Ability to write clearly about modelling decisions, tradeoffs and failure modes.

Responsibilities

• Design the knowledge representation for constraints, transformations, procedures, and guidelines so that agents, validators, and humans can use them.
• Build and operate platform services for ingesting, curating, retrieving, and versioning knowledge across customers and workflows.
• Define how semantic retrieval, deterministic validation, and human review work together, handling applicability, uncertainty, and escalation.
• Design and implement reusable APIs and tools for applying, validating, and explaining contextual knowledge.
• Build evaluation suites for retrieval quality, applicability, conflict handling, and explanation quality with measurable results.
• Take end-to-end ownership of technical areas including security, tenant isolation, reliability, observability, and performance.
• Collaborate with domain experts and product teams to turn informal expertise into structured knowledge with provenance and release practices.
