Job summary

Moderna is seeking a senior AI engineering leader to shape the engineering foundation for next‑gen AI across Supply Chain and Enterprise Digital. You will define architecture, standards, and deployment patterns to turn AI/GenAI into secure, scalable enterprise products.

You will mentor engineers, set technical direction, and drive production‑ready platforms with Lakehouse, model lifecycle, and governance across regions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software, data, or AI engineering experience.
• Expert proficiency with Python and SQL; strong software architecture fundamentals.
• Frontend experience with TypeScript/JavaScript and a modern framework.
• Backend experience designing production APIs and services.
• Experience architecting and operating LLM/GenAI systems.
• Strong cloud architecture on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of GxP and regulated environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for AI software platforms and cloud-based deployment patterns.
• Serve as a senior individual contributor, setting architecture and mentoring engineers.
• Own end-to-end architecture for AI and data products, including lakehouse, governance, and model lifecycle.
• Define the technical strategy and reference architecture for AI delivery and cloud-native platforms.
• Lead cloud deployment standards across development, testing, and production.
• Design, build, and review reusable components and APIs for production AI.
• Establish best‑in‑class AI/ML/LLMOps engineering practices.
• Integrate SAP and enterprise data sources into data products.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure security, governance, and regulatory compliance.
• Coach engineers to raise architecture discussions and build a Center of Excellence.
• Improve platform reliability, observability, and cost efficiency.
