Job summary

Proxify is looking for a Senior Backend Rust Developer to join client teams as a technical lead for core systems. You will architect and build low-latency, high-throughput services that power the platform and drive the transition from legacy services to high-performance Rust microservices.

You will design distributed systems using gRPC, Protocol Buffers, and modern Rust frameworks, collaborating with cross-functional teams across CET time zones in a remote setup.

Qualifications

• Proven production-grade Rust development experience.
• Strong knowledge of ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, Send/Sync.
• Experience with async Rust and Tokio ecosystem.
• Designing distributed systems with gRPC and protobufs.
• SQL proficiency (PostgreSQL preferred) and async ORMs like sqlx or Diesel.
• Containerization with Docker/K8s and cloud deployments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Familiarity with profiling tools (flamegraph/valgrind).
• Excellent English communication; able to lead discussions.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement highly performant backend services that are robust, maintainable, and type-safe.
• Lead the shift toward memory-safe distributed systems and zero-cost abstractions.
• Conduct rigorous code reviews and promote Rust best practices.
• Architect secure and scalable RESTful and gRPC APIs for frontend/mobile use.
• Maintain high code quality with unit/integration and property-based tests.
