your Jared is seeking a firmware engineer to design, develop, and test embedded firmware for connected devices. You will collaborate with clients to translate requirements into robust silicon-level solutions, with a strong emphasis on BLE and OTA updates. This is a freelance, time-and-material role with pathways to permanent contracts.

The role rewards ownership, proactive problem-solving, and willingness to work across hardware and software domains, including AI-assisted workflows.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional firmware development.
• Strong C/C++ for embedded systems (ESP32/STM32).
• Experience with BLE stacks and OTA update flows.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and ship firmware for connected devices (wearables, audio, health-tech).
• Gather requirements from clients and translate into working silicon solutions.
• Consult on stacks, tools, and trade-offs with clients and internal teams.
• Collaborate with mobile, backend and QA to ensure BLE interoperability.
• Test firmware releases and document future maintenance for sustainability.
• Estimate work and flag risks before they become blockers.
• Promote code reviews, patterns, and knowledge-sharing across teams.
• Use AI tools as part of daily firmware workflows.
