Devoted Studios, a globally remote game development company, is seeking a Senior Content Designer to craft story-driven chapter content that spans environments, characters, and narrative beats between play sessions.

You will connect narrative, environment, characters, and animation, coordinating with writers, artists, animators, and producers to maintain the creative intent from pitch to polish within an established IP and partner review process.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of game development experience in content, narrative, level, or world design.
• At least one shipped title with player-facing story or content design.
• Portfolio showing environments, narrative beats, and player moments you designed.
• Strong understanding of how story, environment, characters, and animation work together to communicate progression.
• Strong visual communication skills: sketches, paintovers, mood boards, storyboards, or blockouts.
• Experience with art and animation pipelines and cost-aware scoping.
• Excellent documentation and presentation skills for briefs and pitches.
• Experience with established IPs, brand guidelines, or licensor approval processes.
• Experience collaborating with external partners/clients and managing feedback and shifting priorities.
• Fluent written and spoken English; based in Europe or the UK.

Responsabilités

• Conceive and pitch chapter concepts, defining setting, story arc, characters, and the sequence of environments and moments players unlock.
• Design environments, including layout, points of interest, and how spaces transform as players advance.
• Shape narrative beats, character arcs, and dialogue with writers to reinforce story and progression.
• Design signature moments such as reveals, transformations, and emotional payoffs that reward progress.
• Bridge design, art, and animation by translating intent into clear direction for each discipline.
• Define character staging, animation needs, and camera framing for key beats within scope and cost.
