Job summary

Lever, Inc. is seeking a Product Engineer (AI-Native) based in Poland to own features end-to-end, from problem discovery to deployed, reliable solutions.

You will work with AI agents as primary development partners in a remote, international team and shape AI-first engineering processes. The role blends senior engineering, product ownership, architecture, and integrations, with a focus on reliability and production readiness.

Qualifications

• Senior-level engineering experience with ownership of complex production systems end-to-end.
• Background as backend engineer, software architect, or similar IC.
• Extensive hands-on experience using AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex) as a core part of daily development.
• Strong interest in agentic software development and continuous learning.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to independently drive work to results.
• Strong critical-thinking to inspect, debug, and improve AI-generated code.
• High standards for engineering quality, reliability and production readiness.
• Experience with complex integrations and external service providers.
• Comfort operating with ambiguity and taking technical/product decisions without predefined specs.
• Strong product mindset connecting tech decisions to business outcomes.
• Hands-on IC; no people management.
• Strong English communication within distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Own product features end-to-end from problem to production.
• Identify what to build and drive initiatives without detailed specs.
• Engage with external partners and service providers to define integration requirements.
• Collaborate with AI agents to create product and technical specifications with ownership.
• Delegate tasks to AI agents and review their output in a large production codebase.
• Critically review AI-generated implementations for errors and quality.
• Test features focusing on reliability and correctness of financial transactions systems.
• Own architecture, integrations, deployment, reliability, and production readiness.
• Contribute to AI-first development processes and continuously improve practices.
• Stay updated on agentic development practices and evolving AI tools.
