Job summary

GuidePoint Security LLC is seeking a SecOps Engineer for the North Central region, primarily remote in the U.S. You will support security operations technologies, develop telemetry pipelines, SIEM detection content, and security automation while delivering high-value service to clients and internal teams.

The role emphasizes strong troubleshooting, analytics, and client communication, with opportunities to work across SIEM, SOAR, and XDR technologies in a consulting setting.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in security operations, SIEM engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with at least one enterprise SIEM platform.
• Experience with log data, telemetry, parsing, normalization, and data onboarding.
• Exposure to detection engineering, SOC workflows, APIs, integrations, and automation.
• Basic scripting experience (Python or PowerShell).
• Familiarity with SIEM query languages like SPL, KQL, Lucene, or SQL-like languages.
• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity/IT or equivalent experience.
• Interest in AI tools to improve security operations.

Responsibilities

• Configure and ingest security telemetry into SIEM platforms via agents, APIs, syslog, and native integrations.
• Develop, test, and tune SIEM detection rules to reduce false positives.
• Maintain and optimize SIEM and SOAR platforms and workflows.
• Document architectures, data flows, and SOC processes for clients.
• Contribute to reusable patterns, runbooks, and technical documentation.
• Stay current with SIEM, SOAR, XDR, and observability tech.
