Job summary

GuidePoint Security LLC is seeking an Application Security Engineer to support the Mid-Atlantic region with remote work options. You will implement and operationalize SAST tools, integrate security into CI/CD pipelines, and contribute to secure software development across teams.

The role demands hands-on security engineering experience, strong coding and automation skills, and a solid understanding of OWASP and SDLC security practices.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with the implementation, operationalization, and troubleshooting of SAST tools such as Semgrep, Snyk, CodeQL, Checkmarx, Veracode, etc.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab Runners, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, CircleCI, etc.)
• Experience in software engineering, ideally full stack development with modern architectures
• Strong scripting and automation experience in one or more languages
• Solid knowledge of OWASP Top 10, threat modeling, and secure SDLC practices
• Embraces emerging technologies, including AI tools, to improve outcomes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Analyze and implement secure coding practices across the SDLC
• Operate and optimize SAST tools within CI/CD pipelines
• Collaborate with engineering teams to remediate vulnerabilities
• Develop and maintain automation for security testing tasks
• Contribute to threat modeling and secure design reviews
