Job summary

SplitMetrics is seeking a Backend Engineer to join our remote-first team. You will build Python-based backend services for high-load, data-intensive systems and optimize data pipelines and analytics.

You will implement automated testing, contribute to CI/CD processes, monitor system performance, and help ensure reliability across TB-scale data workloads. English proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Python backend development on high-load systems.
• Strong SQL skills with performance tuning.
• Experience with microservices and data pipelines.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and GitHub workflows.
• B1+ English proficiency.
• Obsessed with observability and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Scrape various APIs at industrial scale (TBs/day).
• Build backend services in Python for high-load data systems.
• Write and review code for quality, security, and best practices.
• Implement automated testing (unit, e2e) and CI/CD processes.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system stability and performance.
