Job summary

soweloconsulting is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own and evolve high-performance Databricks pipelines using Python and SQL across Azure, AWS, or GCP. This 100% remote role in Poland collaborates with US East–time zone clients and internal teams to deliver scalable data solutions.

You will design, build, test, and operate data workflows, partner with analysts and data scientists, and drive efficiency, reliability, and cost savings while maintaining code quality and documentation.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on data engineering or analytics experience.
• Proficient in Python and SQL; Scala a plus.
• Experience designing and maintaining Databricks data pipelines.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP data services.
• Strong emphasis on code quality and testing.
• Excellent remote collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines in Databricks.
• Develop ETL/ELT processes using Python and SQL to ingest, transform, and prepare data.
• Optimize data workflows for performance, reliability, and cost in cloud environments.
• Support creation and maintenance of data models, tables, and integrations on cloud platforms.
• Partner with data analysts and scientists to deliver clean, accessible data for analytics.
• Monitor pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and document best practices.
• Stay updated on Databricks features and industry trends for continuous improvement.
