Job summary

Sowelo Consulting seeks a senior data engineer to own and optimize Databricks pipelines using Python and SQL. You will work on modern cloud architectures to ingest, transform, and analyze data for AI and analytics initiatives.

You will collaborate with analysts and scientists, design scalable data workflows across Azure/AWS/GCP, and maintain data models in a remote-first, flexible Poland-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on data engineering or analytics engineering experience.
• Strong Python and SQL skills; Scala knowledge is a nice to have.
• Extensive experience designing and maintaining Databricks data pipelines.
• Experience with public cloud data services (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Data modeling and building reliable data workflows in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain modern data pipelines in Databricks.
• Develop ETL/ELT processes using Databricks, Python, and SQL to ingest and transform data.
• Optimize data workflows for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency in cloud environments.
• Support creation and maintenance of data models, tables, and integrations on cloud platforms.
• Collaborate with data analysts and scientists to deliver clean data for analytics and reporting.
• Monitor pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to documentation and best practices.
• Stay updated on Databricks features and industry trends to drive improvements.
