Job summary

Coherent Solutions is seeking an expert Python backend engineer to design, develop, and scale distributed services for a remote-friendly team. You will own APIs, data pipelines, and message brokering with Kafka while ensuring low latency, high availability, and robust test coverage.

You will collaborate with product, frontend, and DevOps groups in a fast-paced environment, mentoring junior engineers and driving architectural decisions. English proficiency and strong problem-solving are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Python backend development.
• Solid experience with Django/FastAPI and asyncio.
• Production experience with Kafka.
• Distributed systems or microservices background.
• Docker and container orchestration basics.
• Cloud exposure, preferably AWS.
• SQL databases, especially PostgreSQL.
• Experience with CI/CD and test automation.
• Monitoring/logging tools like Prometheus/Grafana.
• Strong problem solving and code review skills.
• Agile team collaboration and English (B2+).

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of backend services from design to deployment and maintenance.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable distributed backend services using Python and Django.
• Architect distributed systems to support millions of users with low latency and high availability.
• Own APIs, data pipelines, messaging with Kafka, and caching.
• Optimize systems for throughput, latency, fault tolerance, and resilience under load.
• Implement unit, integration, and performance tests.
• Improve development processes and observability via monitoring and logging.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to ship features on timelines.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and architecture discussions.
