Job summary

Percona is seeking a Product Manager for PMM to own the product strategy and execution for our open source observability platform. You will cooperate with engineering, design, and the community to shape PMM's future and deliver value to database admins, SREs, and developers.

You will work with customers and the open source community to validate ideas, conduct market research, and iterate quickly, prioritizing features and outcomes over lengthy specs.

Qualifications

• Proven success managing technical products, particularly developer tools, infrastructure, platform, or observability products.
• Experience shipping software products from idea to release.
• Strong technical understanding of modern infrastructure, databases, cloud-native, and observability tech, and ability to translate concepts into product value.
• Experience cross-functionally with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer success.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Fluent in English.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for customer visits, conferences, and events.

Responsibilities

• Own the product strategy and roadmap for PMM, aligning with Percona's overall product vision.
• Engage directly with customers and the community to understand challenges, validate ideas, and identify opportunities.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to shape product direction.
• Translate customer problems into clear product requirements and priorities.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Design, Documentation, Marketing, and Customer Success to deliver great product experiences.
• Prioritize features and make trade-offs based on customer value and engineering effort.
• Define success metrics and use feedback, telemetry, and usage data to guide decisions.
• Work with engineering throughout the lifecycle, from discovery to release.
• Represent PMM through blog posts, webinars, conferences, and customer meetings.
• Help drive adoption of PMM across the open source community and enterprises.
