Job summary

Tonik is seeking a Junior Web Designer for long-term B2B cooperation. You will ship pages and full websites for early-stage startups, using AI to accelerate prototyping. You’ll build and maintain design systems in Figma and collaborate with senior designers and developers to push designs to production.

The role emphasizes conversion-focused design, independent task ownership, and a fast-paced startup environment across EU time zones. English fluency and a growing portfolio are essential.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of design experience or real projects shipped (internship, freelance or personal projects count)
• Solid portfolio with web projects showing creativity and clear thinking
• Strong in Figma: components, auto layout, responsive thinking
• Strong visual fundamentals: typography, layout, hierarchy, spacing
• Daily use of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Midjourney, Flora) in workflow
• Ability to take a defined task from brief to delivery independently and ask for help when needed
• Understanding of storytelling: visuals and text combine to convey ideas
• Curiosity about conversion and performance, not just aesthetics
• Interest in prototyping AI solutions (GSAP, Three.js)
• Attention to detail and high standards for deliverables
• Fluent in English; comfortable joining calls with founders
• Experience prompting/orchestrating LLMs for design/research work
• Exposure to branding or digital marketing
• Interest in startups ecosystem

Responsibilities

• Design and ship pages and whole websites for early-stage startups with senior designer review
• Use AI as a default part of workflow to prototype quickly
• Build and maintain design systems in Figma: components, tokens, responsive states, handoff-ready files
• Prototype AI-powered features (chat interfaces, generative tools, personalization) with team
• Design for conversion with measurable impact and iteration
• Assist with copywriting using AI to align messaging with visuals
• Stay updated on AI + design trends and bring insights to projects
• Join brainstorming sessions and design critiques with direct feedback
