Job summary

Watch Duty is hiring a Full-Charge Bookkeeper to own our books and payroll from end to end. This hands-on, IC role involves recording and reconciling transactions in QuickBooks Online, managing AP/AR, monthly close, and multi-state payroll in Rippling while collaborating with our Senior VP of Business Operations and external CPA.

The ideal candidate is detail-driven, self-directed, and experienced in nonprofit accounting, with a focus on clean books and well-documented processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-charge bookkeeping experience.
• Experience with multi-state payroll.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
• Experience with Rippling for payroll.
• Experience with Ramp for expense management.
• Nonprofit accounting experience and Form 990 familiarity.
• Bookkeeping or payroll certifications (CB, FPC, CPP).

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online.
• Manage full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Reconcile bank, credit card, Ramp accounts monthly.
• Run the monthly close and prepare financial statements.
• Record donations and grants and track restricted funds.
• Prepare schedules for annual audit and Form 990.
