Job summary

Scale-X Solutions is seeking an experienced Building & Construction Estimator for dayshift work from home, handling diverse projects from fit-outs to modular construction. The role emphasizes comprehensive tendering, budgeting, and coordination with design consultants to secure successful bids.

You will lead the tender process end-to-end, ensuring timely submissions, evaluating subcontractor quotes, and handing over detailed information to the project team for successful execution.

Responsibilities

• Advise Managing Director of suitable tender packages
• Estimate the value of a project tendered as part of Business Development
• Communicate with design consultants for input on design and construct proposals
• Full responsibility of tender process from receipt to submission including preparation of tender letters and schedules
• Ensure tender responses conform with tender requirements
• Ensure tender responses submitted within specified timeframes
• Assist with collation of tender responses
• Issue tender packages to subcontractors, consultants, suppliers etc.
• Evaluate Subcontractors quotations for accuracy and completeness
• Communicate with Subcontractors to engage interest and ensure scope compliance
• Establish and maintain tendering process and negotiations
• Complete Tender with sufficient time for Management review at least three days before due date
• Training of Cadets where applicable
• For successful tenders collate and handover all relevant information to project team, including initial budget
• Ensure major suppliers and subcontractor agreements are in place and hand over details to project team
• Assist project team with pricing claims and variations
• Review unsuccessful tenders to identify opportunities for improvement
• Develop cost plans and tenders for project opportunities
• Coordinate final tender documentation
• Delegate documented tender requirements for the tender submission
• Assess tender risks including Time, Contractual, Cost, Quality
• Prepare tender letter and complete tender schedules
• Scrutiny of tender documents
• Participate in internal and external audits relating to tender processes.
