Job summary

Scale-X Solutions is seeking a Project Engineer to join our ACT and Riverina NSW-based commercial contractor client, supporting projects from tender through handover on site. The role requires a tertiary qualification in Construction Management or Civil Engineering (or working towards one), and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Australia.

Procore experience is advantageous. You will perform takeoffs, cost reporting, WHS and quality documentation, and coordinate subcontractors while attending

Responsibilities

• Estimate support and tender coordination
• Procurement scoping and subcontract package letting
• Administer contracts and payment claims under relevant legislation
• Manage submittals, transmittals and RFIs
• Handle variations with client and subcontractors
• Issue contractual notices and track time bars/EOTs
• Provide cost reporting/forecasting to Project Manager
• WHS compliance support on projects
• Maintain ITPs, quality records and handover docs
• Coordinate subcontractors on site and attend meetings

Job description

Our client is an ACT and Riverina NSW commercial contractor delivering defence infrastructure and major projects. We're looking for a Project Engineer to join our team and support our project teams from tender through to handover.

Key responsibilities

• Working efficiently, accurately, safely at pace.
• Estimating and tender support
• Procurement support, including scoping and letting subcontract packages
• Contract administration, including assessing supplier and subcontractor payment claims in line with Security of Payment legislation (ACT and NSW)
• Managing submittals, transmittals and RFIs
• Managing variations upstream with the client and downstream with subcontractors
• Tracking and issuing contractual notices, including time bars, delay notices and EOT claims
• Accurate cost reporting/forecasting, with monthly reporting to the Project Manager
• Supporting WHS compliance on projects
• Managing quality documentation, including ITPs, quality records and handover documentation (O&Ms and asbuilts)
• Coordinating subcontractors on site and attending site meetings

About you

• Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or similar (or working towards one)
• Experience in a commercial construction environment
• Proven ability to perform accurate take offs, at minimum including reinforcement scheduling and quantities for concrete, formwork and detailed excavation
• Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
• Procore experience is advantageous
• 3 Years experience in Australia in a similar role is a minimum requirement minimum
